Kapatik Ambassador

DEEDEE VILLEGAS

This year’s theme honors Rajah Humabon as a key figure in Cebu’s early history, representing the identity of the Pintados—warriors adorned with intricate body markings that symbolizes bravery, status, and heritage.

As a leader during a time of cultural encounter and transformation, his story reflects the resilience and evolving identity of the Cebuano people, rooted in tradition yet shaped by change.

By embracing this legacy, Kapatik celebrates the origins of tattooing as a powerful cultural expression—highlighting how Cebuano artists today continue to draw from history, identity, and storytelling, carrying the spirit of the Pintados into modern ink.
